  1. the most interesting place that i did visit is NEW YORK , its a worderful place to enjoy yourself , manhattan is awesome , i went there during my christmas vacation last year and it was awesome , some advices about new york : bring money , and a camara , i really did enjoy time square , i did visit time square during the day but if you can do it , do it during the morning , have lunch in a typical shitty place , much better than the ones that you can find focused on tourist, i did have lunch in a dirty , cheap chinese restaurant in china town , or go to little corea , because the corean bbq are really good, i can not talk about new york culture because i would have to talk about multiples of them , in new york you can find everything and everything can happen , but be clever and dont go during the hard wnter like i did , i was frozen ... absolutly disgusting ! im coming back to the states in like 3 months and a half and i will go back to visit the city who never sleeps ! thanks and if you have the chance of going , dont miss it !!

    1. Hi Miri,
I was there many years ago, exactly 10. It was also a great experience for me, because it was my dream city since I don't remember..What I enjoyed more was the diversity, the metro, the rush and the mood of the city.
Later on, in 2007 I passed by the Bronx (we were going to Mexico and we had a few hours in NY due to the connection flights schedule, so we spent almost all our time in going from and to the JFK airport). This was also an amazing experience...it was like in the movies. The hamburger restaurants were even gun-shoot proof, with a giant glass screen. I will never forget this feeling of danger and at the same time the thrill of being there.
Well, I guess we all want to go to NY once in our lives...
      Thanks for your contribution!

  2. I think my best trip so far has been Cuba, I was 12 days driving from West to East and back. Starting in Habana where all poor and decadent but still has its charming. When the sun kisses the city everyone is happy and it look like they are partying all the time. The non workers are very cheeky and they try to get from you some pesos for nothing, or for a little picture of your own, but at the end you get use to it. Once you left Habana, all the little cities are really nice also and people really friendy. The food is amazing and there is music in every single corner, old men , older than you grandfather singing and dancing in a little House of Music bar, dressing in white and playing some instrument. The whole experience was fantastic, I don´t blame those who go to an all inclusive resort in Varadero but if they don´t leave the hotel they don´t know what they are missing. Azucar !
Thanks for your blog, I will share some other cities soon.

  3. Hi Ana Vanesa!
I really liked your story, what a nice experience! I went to Cuba already but I stayed only in La Habana, so I guess I missed some of the charm. By reading you I start dreaming of coming back!
    Thanks for your contribution,
    Ana

  4. Hello everyone!
I’d love to visit New York or Cuba too! Thanks for sharing your experiences :)

Let me tell you about my stay in Italy. I must confess Italy is one of the places in which I felt more comfortable, in all senses.

I was very surprised about how similar we Spanish and Italian people are. Although we do not speak the same language, it is quite easy to make yourself understood and to understand what Italian people say.

Another thing I’d like to tell you is how friendly Italians are, especially when they find out that you are Spanish. I don’t know why, it must be because we have so many things in common (culture, social life, and a feeling of “bonding”) and I think the feeling is a two-ways one. You feel comfortable meeting new friends and talking to Italian people. You don’t feel as a foreigner there (I did feel like one when I was in the UK, it’s a very different experience but I also enjoyed it, travelling is always rewarding! I’ll tell you about that experience next time).

If you have the opportunity to visit Italy, you should try “Spritz con Aperol”, which is a very typical drink, slightly bitter, but very tasty. It is typical in the Veneto region, but you can find it almost everywhere. You should also try “piadina”, a flat unleavened bread in which they add a great variety of ingredients. It’s served hot and they can be salty or sweet depending on the ingredients. In general Italian food is really good, especially if you have the opportunity to try the home-made one, which is the most typical and tasty.

If you like cultural visits, Italy is the place to go. It’s full of amazing monuments, museums, gardens and statues. You should visit Florence and Rome, they are amazing cities. But I’m pretty sure you’d love any other city you have the chance to visit (Ferrara, Siena, Verona…).

Finally, I’d like to share this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtI6GdTGW8M . It shows many other interesting things to do in Italy, as well as amazing images of many Italian cities and landscapes. If you have the chance, go and visit Italy! You'll have a very good time.

    1. David,

"Spritz with aperol" is my favourite alcoholic drink. The first time I tasted it was in Venice five years ago. Since then and up to day I am used to drinking "aperol spritz" every now and again. :)

  6. Hello friends!

My first trip abroad was from Zaragoza to San Francisco with my best friend in 2003. It was a very good idea to go there at Christmas. San Francisco is a big city located in California (in the West of the United States of America). The weather is warmer than in Spain and there are many people from all over the world. In fact, Chinatown is a Chinese town within San Francisco. This neighbourhood has beautiful houses, noisy markets, exotic churches and amazing restaurants. The Chinese community in San Francisco is one of the most important in the World.

In general the weather was marvellous, but when we visited the Golden Gate Park it was raining cats and dogs. Luckily we were wearing raincorts and strong boots. This park is the perfect setting for outdoor activities: hiking, jogging, cycling, baseball, football, fishing, etc. The Japanese Tea Garden is a beautiful garden filled with delicate decorative details: bonsai trees, rock gardens, exotic plants and pagodas.

I remember clearly the little things from this journey. At the beginning of the week we booked a one-day trip. The coach took us on a tour of Napa valley. The place is famous for its wineries. In fact, we travelled a bit further up the valley to visit a winery where we could participate in a wine tasting session. In the souvenir shop I bought two bottles of red wine.

The food in San Francisco was delicious. American people have a big breakfast. They eat scrambled eggs with bacon, beans, cakes and sweet pastries. In my view, this is an excellent breakfast and I love it because I have a sweet tooth.

The people were very nice too. They are used to welcoming guests and no matter their race, sexuality or religious beliefs. We had a good time when we visited Castro, the centre of gay life in the city.

If you are planning to go to San Francisco, do not forget to visit the Golden Gate Bridge because it is the symbol of San Francisco and the whole Californian coast. In a nutshell, it was worth spending a few days in San Francisco.

  8. I really think that my favourite destination has always been London. There are multiple possibilities to experience this superb city and street life at any season. From the historic places dating back to William the Conqueror (they are still there challenging us and future generations) to lively pubs, music halls and theatres (Shakespearian theatre is a must there). If you go in August, you can feel the bustle of the people from all over the world expressing themselves in the language of the Empire, that is English in its different accents, dialects and pidgins. The most enriching experience there is to visit a traditional pub, have some beer and spend a good time with friends, or join conversations there. Shopping is another welcome activity, enjoying Piccadilly and the labyrinth of streets around it. Another important activity for this year is to celebrate Shakespeare’s Anniversary, just going the renewed Globe and experience a classic and updated version, always surprising, of Romeo and Juliet with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

  9. One of the most interesting places I have ever visited is the Yosemite Park in California, in the USA. It is a great place for adventurous people and for nature lovers.
The moment you arrive at the park you experience natural beauty, endless wilderness, rocks and remarkable tranquility. You can find there the famous Giant Sequoias, sheers cliffs, flowing waterfalls and incredible silence. One of the most iconic cliffs is the Half Dome which is a granite wall rising a mile above the valley.
For me the best lodging way is sleeping in a tent and waking up surrounded by the most majestic wonders on earth. However, you have to be careful with the black bears which inhabit this area. They might come close to you looking for food. It´s important, therefore, to follow storage regulations and keep the food in the lockers if you don´t want to be surprised by a night visitor.
There are many activities to do in the park. In summer you can go hiking, climbing, biking, rafting and in winter you can choose from ice-skating, snow-shoeing or cross-country skiing.

If you go to California this park should be definitely a must to visit.
