Cádiz's White Hill Towns Route, by Alba Santamaría

In the province of Cádiz (and part of Málaga) there are numerous towns called “White Towns” for their color, predominantly white. The villagers of these towns whitewash the facades of their houses and shops in order to avoid the heat, which makes these places look white throughout the year.
Now, I would like to show you my favorite ones.
  1. Arcos de la Frontera
If you come from Cádiz, this will be your first stop, an inclined town with numerous points of interest, such as the Church of San Pedro or the alley of the nuns, as well as numerous viewpoints where you can observe the surroundings.

 2.     Zahara de la Sierra
Crowned by the remains of a castle from which you can see the best views of the town and the lake, Zahara is a town full of white alleys and squares full of joy. Personally, it is the most beautiful town in the entire route.

 3.     Grazalema
Place par excellence to make hiking trails or enjoy the gastronomy of the area.

 4.     Setenil de las Bodegas
A wonderful and unique town, where you can find streets with "roof", as it is built between and underneath rocks.

 5.     Ronda
World famous town, it stands out for its bridge over 150 meters deep and its gastronomy, as well as numerous monuments such as the Bullring, the old town or the Arab baths.
