MY TRIP IN CASTILLA LA MANCHA AND LISBON, by Jenny Paola Triviño

First of all I have to confess that I love to travel, I think that most people love to travel.
Last summer my boyfriend Nauzet and I went to a small town in Castilla La Mancha, San Carlos del Valle and then we would continue to Lisbon. We like to plan trips in advance (well, especially me), so we bought the tickets and booked the apartment from February. But in June my boyfriend found a new job, so we were afraid that the trip and the vacations we could not do, so Nau spoke with his boss and told him about the situation, fortunately they told him that there was no problem and that he could take those 10 vacation days in August.

Finally, the day of the trip arrived! We live in Tenerife so we got up early to go to the airport and make the most of the day, we arrived in Madrid around noon, we rented the car and we headed to San Carlos del Valle-. On the way there, we made a stop in Aranjuez to meet its beautiful gardens, palace and squares, and we loved it. We arrived at San Carlos del Valle at night at a friend and her husband’s house, they were going to be our tour guides in Castilla La Mancha; we met many towns and cities in the area and of course we went to Campos de Criptana to meet the famous mills, we tried the manchego cheese and all its fantastic gastronomy.

Afterwards we continued our trip on the way to Lisbon by car, we went to Nazaré because my boyfriend wanted to see the waves, since he is a surfer,
but he was disappointed since the sea was super calm. I have to say that it is a very beautiful coastal town and its beaches are spectacular. We continued our way to Lisbon and arrived at night very tired, because we were driving all day.

The first day was a little crazy. in Lisbon it is forbidden to park cars on the streets during the day, it is only possible for 3 or 4 hours maximum during the week, so we had to leave the car in a private parking lot all day in the city center, but when we went there we got confused in one lane and ended up driving more than 2 km in the bus lane, luckily we found the exit and no police saw us.
The weekend we left the car near where we were staying, as it was allowed.

We had a free tour in which we learned many things from there and they advised us places to visit, where to eat, drink.

We were transported by tram or Uber, although most of the time we walked a lot, we ate Belen's famous cupcakes. One day we went to Sintra, I have to say that every day we carried a sweater in our backpack in case it was cold, but every day it was hot, just that day we left the sweaters and in Sintra it was getting really cold, we rented a “tuc tuc”, so the feeling of cold was greater, the boy who drove the “tuc tuc” at the beginning wanted to charge us 50 euros but finally we agreed to pay 30 euros, and at each stop we made he took many photos. He explained everything and also a little history about the palaces and Sintra in general.

Lisbon is a very beautiful city, its people, food, atmosphere, in general everything was great. The only bad thing about Lisbon is its streets that are up and down, but with tennis shoes everything is great.
