Vigo, my town. Feel de Magic, feel Vigo. By Lorena Pérez Valladares

Feel de Magic, Feel Vigo

Welcome to my city. A city of emotions to discover, of beaches to enjoy and a place to eat the best meals ever.
Is located on the Northwest coast of Spain; it has around 300 thousand inhabitants, and thousands of beautiful places to visit. Let’s start the journey:
Vigo - center: You can go shopping on the most important street, called "Principe", you will find the best shops and you will also contemplate the wonderful churches such as the cathedral, or the key image of Vigo: the “Cristo de la Victoria”, which has its festival in August.

Cíes Islands: The best beach in the world "Rodas" is in the Cíes Islands, an essential visit if you come to Vigo. Let nature envelop your senses, breathe the fresh air and enjoy a relaxing boat ride until arrival.

Samil: my favorite place, a place where you feel how the waves splash your skin, where you enjoy the sand, the sea, a beautiful walk while having an ice cream falling in love with the beautiful sunset when the sun hides behind the Cíes Islands.
The Castro, Castrelos and the mount of A Guía:  three places full of history in our city. The Castro is located in the center of Vigo, it has impressive views of the city, and at night the light illuminates its facade in a spectacular way.Castrelos is very important, because it is the place where people practice running, there are also concerts in Summer, when the big festivals of the city take place. Unforgettable has been, for example, the Maná concert. The hermit of the Guide is a beautiful paradise with views of the estuary and with a beautiful environment, located in the Teis neighborhood.

VIGO, WHERE CHRISTMAS LIVES
My city has become a benchmark for Christmas festivities; our mayor fills every street with joy every year, with illusion with each deposited led light, and with a unique experience when every hour from 6 in the afternoon the huge tree gives its sound and light show. Thousands of tourists come to experience it, simply incredible.

There is still much Vigo to discover, there are markets several days a week, the famous Dinoseto and his son, the famous statue of El Sireno, its nightclubs, the recently opened mechanical ramps of Gran Vía, its delicious oysters and much more.

We are waiting for you!!!

  1. Thanks for sharing! I have spent several days in Vigo but I see I missed a lot of things. Next time I am there I must visit the Cíes Islands and Samil beach. It looks marvellous. I agree Vigo is a special place to enjoy every minute with lots of things to do and places to visit. Alicia
